The CR-Scan RaptorX removes this dependency by combining near-infrared and structured light technology with an AI-powered alignment engine that continuously calculates positional reference from the object's own geometry. This is why the scanner can move freely around an object and still build a coherent, accurately aligned model without manual correction.
The dual-light approach is also why the scanner performs reliably on surfaces that defeat single-technology systems. Near-infrared penetrates dark materials that absorb standard light, while structured light reads surface geometry across reflective finishes — together they give the sensor enough data to lock onto surfaces that would otherwise produce incomplete or distorted scans.
