Bring Custom Engraving In-House — No Outsourcing Needed

Outsourced engraving is slow and inconsistent mainly because most engraving methods either lack the precision to hold fine detail or lack the speed to make small runs commercially viable — which is exactly the gap the G2's 20W ytterbium fibre laser is built to close.

A fibre laser works by exciting the beam through a doped fibre-optic cable rather than a gas chamber or crystal, which produces a tighter, more stable beam at this wavelength (1064 nm). This is why it can mark fine detail into hard materials like stainless steel and titanium that other laser types struggle to hold cleanly.

Speed and precision would normally trade off against each other, but the G2 resolves this using a galvanometer scanning system. Instead of moving the whole laser head across the material, two small mirrors steer the beam itself — which is why it can move at up to 15,000 mm/s without sacrificing the ±0.001 mm repeat accuracy needed for batch consistency.

That accuracy is what actually makes in-house production commercially viable. Without it, a ten-piece order would mean ten slightly different results — the kind of inconsistency that pushes makers back toward outsourcing in the first place.

The 100,000-hour laser lifespan matters for the same reason. Fibre lasers degrade in output power over time, and a shorter-lived laser would mean marking quality — and therefore consistency — drifting as the machine ages, a risk you can't take on once you're the one responsible for the finished result.

Finally, the desktop-and-handheld format isn't just a convenience feature. It's what allows one machine, and one laser source, to service both flat production runs and awkward one-off pieces, making it realistic to bring the entire range of a small business's engraving work in-house rather than just the easy parts.

Workflow Advantages

  • 20W Fibre Laser — Gives you the depth and contrast needed to mark hard metals cleanly, so branded metal products look deliberate, not improvised.
  • Ultra-Speed Galvanometer Scanning — Lets you take on batch orders with confidence, knowing turnaround won't be the bottleneck.
  • ±0.001 mm Repeat Accuracy — Every piece in a run matches the last, so you can promise consistency to wholesale or repeat clients.
  • Vivid Colour Engraving — Opens up a design option beyond standard etching, useful for premium or decorative product lines.
  • Desktop and Handheld 2-in-1 Design — One machine adapts to flat stock on the bench or oddly shaped pieces held by hand, so you're not limited to a single job type.
  • LightBurn Compatibility — Fits into a design workflow you may already use, reducing time spent learning new software.
  • 100,000-Hour Laser Lifespan — Backs a long-term investment in your own production capability, rather than a short-term workaround.
  • Vector and Dot Matrix Marking — Covers fine line work and shaded detail alike, so one machine handles a wider range of design briefs.
  • Bluetooth and USB Connectivity — Keeps the machine flexible to set up, whether it's parked at a permanent workstation or moved around a small studio.
