A Faster Path From Prototype to Finished Part
Speed is only useful if accuracy holds at that speed. This is why the Q2C pairs its CoreXY motion system with a full metal frame, a high-hardness linear guide rail on the X-axis, and dual independent lead screw motors on the Z-axis. This rigidity is what allows the toolhead to run at up to 600 mm/s without the frame flexing or layers drifting out of alignment. Higher speed also introduces more vibration, so the printer uses a new 1.5GT custom belt specifically to dampen the resonance that would otherwise show up as visible ripples (VFA) on the surface of a print — meaning the part comes out usable at speed, not just fast.
First-layer failure is one of the most common causes of a failed print. Rather than relying on a separate probe that can drift or misread, the Q2C reads bed contact directly through a loadcell sensor built into the hotend, giving a true zero-offset reading and removing the manual re-calibration step that normally follows a nozzle change or bed swap. Extrusion reliability at high temperature is what unlocks the material range, which is why the hot end combines a ceramic throat, a redesigned heat dissipation module, and a bimetal hardened steel nozzle capable of sustained output up to 370°C. A nozzle without hardened steel would wear quickly under abrasive filaments, undermining consistency over time.
That same reasoning carries through to the hardened steel dual-gear extruder, which is built to grip and feed reinforced filaments such as carbon fibre and glass fibre without slipping or excess wear — so higher-strength materials become a practical option rather than a stress test for the machine. Add the optional QIDI Box, and the same underlying system extends from single-material prototyping into multi-colour output, without requiring a different printer or a separate calibration process. Each of these choices addresses a specific point of failure in high-speed printing, which is why the Q2C is able to move from prototype to finished part with fewer manual steps in between.
