Tiertime UP mini 3 3D printer on a classroom table with a blue geometric object being printed inside

A Larger Build Volume, Designed for Reliable Unattended Printing

Unattended printing fails for one main reason: something goes wrong mid-print and no one is there to catch it. The UP Mini 3 is engineered around removing that risk at each point of failure.

Bed calibration is the first variable — most printers rely on a fixed nozzle height that drifts over time or between users, causing first-layer adhesion issues. The UP Mini 3 instead uses true auto calibration based on load balancing, which measures the actual pressure across the bed before every print and adjusts accordingly, so calibration accuracy doesn't depend on who last used the machine or how carefully they set it up.

The second point of failure is the print itself lifting or shifting during longer jobs. The sliding rail build platform addresses this by locking the plate into a fixed rail guide rather than leaving it to sit loosely on the bed, which keeps the print anchored through hours of unattended operation.

The third and fourth points of failure are external: a door opened mid-print, or a spool running empty overnight. Automatic door pause protection and filament runout protection are built to intervene at exactly those moments, pausing the job rather than letting it fail silently or run unsafely.

Together, these systems don't just add convenience features — they close off the specific failure points that make longer, unattended, larger-volume prints risky on less capable machines.

Workflow Advantages

  • True Auto Calibration (Load Balancing) — Start every print with the assurance that the bed has been measured correctly, without relying on memory, guesswork, or manual adjustment.
  • No Manual Nozzle Height Adjustment — Remove one of the most common setup errors on entry-level machines, so you spend less time troubleshooting and more time producing finished work.
  • Larger Build Volume — Take on bigger parts, batch runs, and multi-piece jobs in a single print, expanding what you're able to produce without upgrading again soon after.
  • Dual HEPA and Activated Carbon Filtration — Operate the machine in a shared office, classroom, or home workspace with confidence that air quality is being properly managed.
  • Automatic Door Pause Protection — Step away from an active print without hesitation, knowing an opened door won't compromise the job or create a safety risk.
  • Filament Runout Protection — Set a long print running overnight or over a weekend and trust that it will be waiting for you, not halted by an empty spool.
  • Tiertime Print Queue — Manage print jobs across a team from one machine, giving your workspace proper production-level control rather than single-user limitations.
  • Sliding Rail Build Platform — Rely on consistent, lift-free results across longer and more complex prints, so output quality holds steady from job to job.
